Game fifteen in the Harborne and District League produced a Northfield battle between second in-the league Northfield Conservative Club and third-placed Northfield Town. The result was a 6-3 win for the Conservative Club to keep them within four points of leaders Bugle Horn with a game in hand while Northfield Town dropped one place in the table to fourth on 26 points. Top-of-the-table Bugle Horn handed out a 9-0 whitewash to their visitor’s bottom-of-the-table Avenue Social who have only won one of their eighteen games compared to their opponents who have only lost one of their eighteen games. Moving up into third place with 28 points is Smethwick Cricket Club who like Bugle Horn recorded an impressive 9-0 win in their home tie with Weoley Castle WMC. Copper Fox ‘R’ were the third team to chalk up a clear-cut 9-0 victory, their win at The Mill keeping them fifth in the table on the same 26 points as Northfield Town.

The Kings Norton League are up to game twenty-four and leaders Copper Fox held on to their six points lead with a 6-1 home win over bottom-of-the-table Kings Heath. Second-placed Bournebrook had a tough away game against Thurlestone but returned on the right side of the 4-3 scoreline which resulted in their hosts dropping one place in the table to fourth on 34 points, the same number as third-placed Northfield who had a 4-0 result awarded to them against E57. With five wins from twenty-three games Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club were lying in a next to the bottom position but in their latest encounter, a home tie against Longbridge, they had a huge 6-1 win which lifted them off their lowly position and above their opponents who replace them in the next to bottom spot, both teams are on twelve points but Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club has the superior average.

The Camp Hill League played their singles knockout at the Cotterills Lane EBAHA Club down to the last eight players from a starting entry of 67 of which 48 turned up on the night and making the quarter-finals were Antony Daly, Simon Edwards, Lee Dells, Mark Phillips, Will Naylor, Chris Stokes, Dave Heighway and Mark Turner.
On the league front the top three positions remain the same with leaders Erdington Nomads, aided by a maximum from James Clarke, won 5-2 against Peaky Blinder to give them an undefeated total of twelve points from their six games plus a two points lead over second and third placed Clumsy Swan who won 4-3 at Moseley Arms and Cotterills Lane EBAHA Club who won by the same margin at Tyseley Bears, the Bears dropping one place to fifth with six points, two fewer than Tyseley WMC who replace them in fourth place with their 6-1 win at Sheldon Marlborough Flights.

Week eleven results in the premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter League had no effect on the divisional positions whatsoever. Top of the division Sheldon Marlborough Arrows had a 7-2 home win over Highwood Gerry’s Boys to stretch their unbeaten record to eight games while second-placed Langley Arrows had a bye and are now four points short of the leaders with a game in hand. Dunky’s Boys are on the same eight points as Langley but from one more game after they won 6-3 at Raven Arrows.
There is a similar situation at the top of division one with Langley Flights heading the table with fourteen points from nine games and second placed Yardley Ex Colts four points behind them with a game in hand after Langley Flights beat them 6-3. The defeat for Yardley sees them now level on ten points with third and fourth in the division Journeys End and Dingle, Journeys having a 5-4 at Hornet while Dingle had a bye this week.
Brian’s Flights consolidated their number one position in division two when they handed their hosts, bottom of the division Castle Bromwich WMC a 9-0 whitewash. The win keeps Brian’s Flights two points to the good on their nearest rivals Iron Horse Rebels who won 6-3 at Lyndon old Boys.

Waggon and Horses, reigning champions in the Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League didn’t have the best of starts to the new season as they slipped to a 4-3 defeat away to Horseley Tavern to put them in a mid-table position after the first-round of fixtures. The early season pacesetters are newcomers Cottage Spring and Vine ‘A’ who both recorded 6-1 wins, Cottage Spring winning at Albion and Vine ‘A’ beating their local rivals and ‘B’ side. Allens ‘A’ and Ivy Bush are not far behind the top two with 5-2 victories, in turn accounting for Allens ‘B’ and Tamebridge.

Week two in the Rowley Monday Night League and Bell are in the same position as where they finished last season, top of the table. Bell’s second fixture of the season saw them, with a 160 break from T.Brennan, win 8-1 at home against Whiteheath Tavern who drop six places to eighth in the league. Clock (Whiteheath ) and White Swan are both just one leg of average short of Bell and in their latest fixtures Clock won 6-3 against Tividale FC and White Swan won 7-2 at Plough and Harrow with M.Wakefield hitting a maximum for the winners. Another player to find the three treble twenties was Callum Allan (Gate Hangs Well) in his team’s 8-1 win at Cradley Sports and Social Club.

It was week four of the John Walters Cup and Trophy in the Sedgley and Gornal Tuesday Night League and in the cup Gornal Labour Club hold on to pole position and made it four straight wins with a 5-4 victory over New Inn. Five Ways, who are just two points short of the Labour Club are second and they won 7-2 against Old Bulls Head.
Red Cow lead the way in the trophy, they made it four wins from four games when they defeated their hosts Chainyard 6-3 giving them a lead of two points over Pensnett Liberal Club and Griffin who played each other with the 5-4 result going in favour of the home team Griffin.

A 7-2 home win over Red Lion keeps Nomad Flights top of division one of the Four Oaks and District League and maintains their two points lead over three teams, Old Oscott Arrows, Highcroft Social and The Old Horns Lions. Old Oscott Lions had a 6-3 win at The Old Horns Lions while Highcroft Social had a close 5-4 success at Bishop Vesey who are fifth in the division.
Oscott Social Club’s 7-2 home win over Pint Pot Flight keeps them top of division two but hot on their heels is Minworth Flights who are the only team in the two divisions to boast a 100% win record their latest success being a 7-2 win at Sutton Sharks to leave them level on sixteen points with Oscott Social Club with a game in hand.

With games now fast running out in the Black Country Men’s Super League leaders Allen’s Bar ‘A’ added a surprisingly close 3-2 home win over Whiteheath Tavern who are ninth in the table and a massive 78 points short of their hosts. Second-placed Railway Tavern slightly reduced the arrears with a 4-1 home win over Allen’s Bar ‘B’ but they are still twenty-one points short of the leaders.
It was not a good week for Yeltz Bar as third in the table Yeltz Bar ‘A’ lost 3-2 at seventh in the league The Maverick and Yeltz Bar who are fourth, went down by the same 3-2 margin at Gilbert’s Bar who are sixth.
There was a rare win for next-to-bottom-of-the-table Horse and Jockey ‘A’ as they chalked up only their third win in twenty-seven games when they won 4-1 at home against The Ashwood who are just two places above them in the table.

The West Midlands Men’s Super League have got their new season underway with a starting line-up of thirteen teams. Setting the pace in the opening games were Dog and Partridge and Kings Head ‘A’ who both recorded 5-0 wins over respective opponents Gilbert’s Bar ‘C’ and Corpus Christi. Not far behind the leading duo areis Bridgtown Social, Gilbert’s Bar ‘B’ and Staffordshire Knot who all won 4-1, Bridgtown Social won their home game with Gilbert’s Bar ‘D’, Gilbert’s Bar ‘B’ also won at home against Chase Social and Staffordshire Knot made it three home successes accounting for Kings Head ‘B’.
Star Inn was the team with a bye in the curtain raiser.

Simon Pritchard has taken over pole position from Phil Clarke in division one of Gilbert’s Bar Monday Night Singles League. On the night Pritchard won 5-3 against Martin Angell and 7-1 against Reece Cook Lucas to make it four wins from four games and give him a total of thirty points with a slender one-point lead over second in the division Adam Teasdale who beat Reece Cook Lucas 5-3 before being held to a 4-4 draw by John Simms. Former leader Phil Clarke drops to third in the table on twenty-eight points, on the night he played one game and was held to a 4-4 draw by Ruspal Bhogal.
Tony Singh continues to lead division two, he added a 5-3 win over J.J.Rowley to take his points tally to 33 and stretch his 100% win record to four games. Singh has a six points lead over his nearest rival Clark Cook who won 6-2 against Chris Hill.
Michele Pritchard only played the one fixture and was held to a 4-4 draw by Robert Harris but it was enough to see her hold on to pole position in division three with forty-one points from five games, a lead of ten points over second in the division Warren Bower who has played four games and on the night added a 7-1 result over Helen Sims to his account.
