Pilgrim Resists The Wizard's Spell | Darts World Magazine

Darryl Pilgrim was victorious on Saturday as he crowned the winner of Week 12 at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Colin Osborne in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 first prize.

Pilgrim, who entered the finale having won Group A earlier in the week, won just one of his group phase matches, by losing his opener to Colin Osborne, before coming from 3-0 down to defeat Andreas Harrysson 4-3 to progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Jim McEwan, and from there, he defeated the Scottish Veteran, 4-2, to book his place in the final.

In the decider, Pilgrim came up against Colin Osborne for the second time on the night, and from there, he got his revenge over ‘The Wizard’ with a 4-1 victory to seal the 12^th and final place at Champions Week and pick up the £5,000 weekly first prize.

The Wizard, a Darts World contributor, had begun the night in authoratative fashion handing out defeats to both Pilgrim and Sweden’s Andreas Harrysson. A 156 checkout to turn the game against Pilgrim was perhaps the highight. The break may however have not benefitted the former UK Open finalist as he looked less convincing inn his semi final against Matthew Edgar who had darts to reach the final himself.

The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Champions Week, the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field to be announced in due course.
