Littler's Record Average Keeps Defence on Track

Luke Littler was victorious on Saturday as he crowned the winner of Week Eight at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Andy Baetens in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 top prize.

Littler, who entered the finale having won Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning both of his group phase matches, as he recorded back-to-back 4-2 victories against Jordan Brooks and Harry Ward to progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Chris Gilliland, and from there, the teenager defeated the Northern Irishman, 4-1, to book his place in the final.

In the decider, Littler came up against Andy Baetens, who’d defeated Harry Ward in the last four.

The 16 year old, defending Super Series Champion, produced a record average, as he whitewashed the Belgian, 4-0, with an average of 117.88 to seal his place in Champions Week and pick up the £5,000 weekly top prize.

The Nuke, was victorious overall in Phase 3 and will be attempting to become the first player to retain or week consecutive Champions Week Editions of the MODUS Super Series.

The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week Nine, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including Dutch Duo Jelle Klaasen and Chris Landman.

Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
