Tony Wood, a former ADC Number 1 and Winmau Open Series Event 2 Winner James Richardson secured returns to the MODUS Super Series, after winning their respective Vault 2.0 Regional Finals competitions.
11 players earned places in Portsmouth through the Amateur Darts Circuit’s second staging of the Vault Series, with Stage 1 Champions Week winner Conan Whitehead and ADC Championship Tour 6 winner Lee Budgen coming through the Southeast and London & Yorkshire and Humber regions.
Steven Plumstead, Steve Hine, and Carl Sneyd were the other England regional winners, with Colin McGarry coming through the first winner from Northern Ireland. Scott Winder defeated Steven Johnstone to win in Scotland, with Davie Kirwan the first Vault winner playing in the MODUS Super Series this week.
Nathan Treadgold and Niall Culleton complete the lineup of Vault 2.0 qualifiers after winning the Wales and Ireland regional competitions, with the Welshman including a 103 checkout to beat Peter Johns 6-2 in the Final at the Hollybush Rugby Club.
Tony Wood reached the Semi Finals in his last outing at the MODUS Super Series but will get another opportunity to put things right in Portsmouth. The Pincher secured qualification from the Northeast region after beating Dean Scott 6-3 in the Final with 2 180s and 9 140s. James Richardson continues what has been a strong year in the Amateur Darts Circuit, with Ruthless coming through as champion from the East of England Region.
The Englishman pinched a last leg decider against MODUS Super Series weekly winner Steve West in the Quarter Finals, including checkouts of 102 and 156. The 49-year-old beat Glen Young 6-4 in the Final at the Croxley Green RBL, claiming another spot at the Live Lounge after already appearing twice this year.
Conan Whitehead the first MODUS Super Series Champions Week winner will return to Portsmouth, including 2 180s in beating Sean Holley 6-4 in the Final despite his opponent throwing a first 9 dart average of 100.40.
The Dartford born player came through the Southeast and London regional Finals competition and will hope for similar fortunes when he returns to the Live Lounge.
The Vault 3.0 Series is now underway with more spots available at the MODUS Super Series, with the Winmau Open Series also providing an opportunity to qualify for the Red Dragon Champion of Champions, all through the Amateur Darts Circuit.
