Earlier this week I was in Exeter for work. After a slog of a drive, and a long stint of doing my day job, I wanted to chill my boots and chuck a few arrows. I found the Ship and Pelican, a nice little pub on the corner of Fore St in Exeter:
There is a relaxed and cosy snug area complimented by a traditional style bar.
There was very good (NPQ) board with Winmau light and surround set up. The owners have decided to make a virtue of the fact that its it’s an old school pub The clever use of carpeting to mute sounds and protect the area produces an excellent look and result.
The pub has clearly backed the notion of the traditional mix of pub activities and a varied drinks and quality offering. If you want a game of pool that’s available too (free on Tuesdays).
The owners have decided to make a virtue of the fact that its it’s an old school pub with all your favourite drinks and the odd weird one too.
The only slight downside for me was the lack of hot food available here crisps n’ nuts. The only thing missing from a huge a great score! 8.2/10.
