Cam Crabtree and Scott Taylor took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Tom Sykes in Saturday’s Champions Week finale at the Modus Super Series.
Crabtree, who entered Group C having finished 5th in Group A earlier in the week, took the early lead by winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Ryan Harrington, Chas Barstow, Wayne Jones and John O’Shea, with his only defeat coming against Gary Stone, to end the day on 8 points from a possible 10.
Elsewhere, John O’Shea and Ryan Harrington ended the day 2nd and 3rd respectively on 6 points each, whilst Chas Barstow and Gary Stone sit 4th and 5th on 4 points each, with Wayne Jones sitting bottom on 2 points.
In Group B, Scott Taylor took the early lead, after winning three of his four matches, as he recorded victories against Ron Meulenkamp, Andy Boulton and Darren Webster, with his only defeat coming against Reece Colley.
Elsewhere, Ron Meulenkamp also ended the evening on 6 points, but sits in 2nd behind Taylor on leg difference, whilst Reece Colley sits in 3rd on 4 points, with Andy Boulton and Darren Webster sitting 4th and 5th respectively on 2 points each.
The Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Tom Sykes in Saturday’s Champions Week finale, with Crabtree and Taylor taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 1pm GMT and Group B will commence from 10pm GMT.
