Cam Crabtree, John O’Shea, Scott Taylor, Reece Colley and Ron Meulenkamp all secured their places in Saturday’s Champions Week finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Tom Sykes, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Crabtree, who entered Friday’s play on 8 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall, after winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Wayne Jones, Chas Barstow, Ryan Harrington and Gary Stone, with his only defeat coming against John O’Shea, to end on 16 points from a possible 20.
Elsewhere, John O’Shea also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 14 points, whilst Wayne Jones and Ryan Harrington finished 3rd and 4th respectively on 10 points each, with Chas Barstow finishing 5th on 6 points and Gary Stone bottom on 4 points.
In Group B, Scott Taylor topped the group overall, after winning three of his four matches on Friday Evening, as he recorded victories against Darren Webster, Andy Boulton and Ron Meulenkamp, with his only defeat coming against Reece Colley, aka Chaos, to end on 12 points from a possible 16.
Elsewhere, Colley and Ron Meulenkamp also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall, with Colley ending on 10 points and Meulenkamp ending on 8 points, whilst Andy Boulton finished 4th on 6 points and Darren Webster bottom on 4 points.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Champions Week with the six players battling it out for the £20,000 top prize, with play commencing from 7:30pm GMT.
