Superman’ Matt Clark was the biggest mover following the Target Open Series events at Newbury this weekend. With the top four on the one year list automatically taking their place at the Tavern in 2025, he made big strides towards putting himself in contention for one of those spots at the 2025 Seniors World Darts Championship.
It was a bad weekend for leader Ross Montgomery but with the winner of Event 2, Robert Thornton, already guaranteed to take his place via the Official World Rankings the damage was limited and Ross remains top, over £1300 clear of Derek Coulson.
Paul Hogan remains in third but the chasing pack will see lots of opportunities, knowing that Howson, Thornton and Henderson will already be at the World Seniors Darts Championships via the World Rankings route.
With £1000 up for the winner of each of these Target Events, any player can have a good weekend and really get themselves into contention.
Next up with be a return to the Crucible in Reading over the weekend of 26th to 28th July.
