A Tale of Two Nines

Group A leader Lee Cocks and Yorkshire and Humber player Tommy Lishman both fired in perfect legs on Day 2 at the MODUS Super Series, with the 2 9-darters coming within a match of each other. 

This is the first time in Super Series history that 2 perfect legs have been hit in one session at the Live Lounge, with Lee hitting his against Pontus Danielsson before Tommy produced perfection again in the match straight after, despite a 4-2 defeat against David Evans where he averaged 106.9. 

“Cocksy” leads Group A on legs difference from Robert Thornton in 2^nd, after winning 3 of his 5 matches on Tuesday, with Robert enjoying a strong day himself, picking up 4 wins to move level with the leader on 14 points. 

The Scotsman produced his best average of the day in his final match against Tommy Lishman, scoring 95.41 in a 4-2 win. 

Sebastian Bialecki having lost his opening 2 matches on Day 2 against Tommy Lishman and Robert Thornton, secured 3 successive wins to end the day 3^rd in Group A with 10 points. 

Tommy Lishman also claimed 3 wins at the Live Lounge, but trails “The Bolt” on legs difference heading into the final day. 

David Evans sits 5^th in the table with 8 points, whilst Sweden’s Pontus Danielsson added another win to his tally, beating “Stretch” 4-2 in the opening match of the day. 

The Group A action will conclude on Wednesday at the MODUS Super Series, with the player who finishes top of the group securing a spot at Saturday’s Finals Night.
