Bipolar UK Benfits from Boylesports Generosity

BoyleSports has donated £10,000 to Bipolar UK after enhancing the total raised following a week of stellar darts at the BoyleSports World Grand Prix.

The leading bookmaker was the title sponsor for the famous double-start tournament, which was won on Sunday evening by Mike De Decker at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester.

BoyleSports had pledged a donation of £20 for every double 20 hit during the tournament and De Decker’s winning dart in Sunday’s finale was fittingly the 365th time the ‘tops’ target had been hit across the week.

That meant a total of £7,300 had been raised as the Belgian celebrated his first televised title, defeating Luke Humphries 6-4 in an enthralling final, however BoyleSports announced afterwards they would boost the pot further, taking the total donation to £10,000.

James Wade, who led the double 20 stats with a whopping 40 during his run to the quarter-finals, was asked to choose the beneficiary and opted for Bipolar UK, for whom he is an ambassador.

Sharon McHugh, Head of PR and Sponsorship for BoyleSports said“We are proud to support Bipolar UK with this £10,000 donation, helping to advance their vital work in supporting individuals affected by the condition. Mental health is an issue that touches many lives and we hope this contribution furthers their mission to make a meaningful impact on awareness and support.”

James Wade, a two-time World Grand Prix winner, said: “This is a fantastic gesture by BoyleSports and on behalf of Bipolar UK I’d like to thank them for their generosity. This donation will help to make a difference with the valuable work they do and the support that they provide to people with bipolar. I’d have loved to have won the BoyleSports World Grand Prix last week, but it’s a nice way to remember the tournament that my double 20s have been able to help in this way.”
