Richie Burnett and Niko Springer took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Tommy Morris in Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.
Former World champion Burnett, who entered Group C having finished 5th in Group A earlier in the week, took the early lead after winning three of his five matches.
The Welsh legend recorded victories against David Davies, Paul Dulson and Johann Brouwer, with his two defeats coming against Adrian Gray and Adam Mould, to sit on 6 points from a possible 10 thus far.
Elsewhere, three players in Paul Dulson, Adam Mould and Adrian Gray also ended the day on 6 points each, but sit 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively behind Burnett due to leg difference, whilst David Davies sits in 5th on 4 points and Johann Brouwer bottom on 2 points.
In Group B, Niko Springer took the early lead after winning three of his four matches, as he recorded victories against Reece Robinson, Tommy Lishman and Neil Duff, with his only defeat coming against Sebastian Bialecki, to end the evening on 6 points from a possible 8 thus far.
Elsewhere, Reece Robinson also ended the night on 6 points, but sits in 2nd behind Springer due to leg difference, whilst Neil Duff sits in 3rd on 4 points, with Tommy Lishman and Sebastian Bialecki sitting 4th and 5th respectively on 2 points each.
The Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Tommy Morris in Saturday’s finale, with Burnett and Springer taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 1pm GMT and Group B will commence from 10pm GMT.
