In form Paula Jacklin will return to the Lakeside stage after the withdrawal of the New Zealand representative Mary-Anne Teinaki:
The WDF announced the rejigging:
We are sad to announce that New Zealand’s Mary-Anne Teinaki has had to withdraw from the 2024 WDF Lakeside World Championships on medical grounds.
Teinaki had qualified by winning last year’s New Zealand Open but as a result of a recent medical issue will be unable to compete in this year’s tournament.
Everyone at the WDF sends Mary-Anne their very best wishes for a speedy recovery.
In accordance with WDF rules, Teinaki’s Lakeside invitation has been extended to the next highest ranked player from the Race Table that had not qualified as of Monday, October 28th.
That player is Paula Jacklin, who at the age of 67 will be returning to compete at Lakeside for the seventh time.
Jacklin will take on America’s Paula Murphy in the first round of the WDF Women’s World Championship, with their meeting scheduled for the afternoon session on Sunday, December 1st.
