Marvin Van Velzen took the early lead on Monday, in ending Day One of Group A, top, after winning four of his five matches, with the second week of the ADC Global Championship commencing at the Live Lounge, Portsmouth.
Van Velzen, who last appeared at the Live Lounge during the Modus Super Series back in November, made his return by taking the early lead in Group A, after winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Gary Stone, Donny Scheurwater, James Welding and Ivan Springborg Poulsen, with his only defeat coming against Adam Mould, to sit on 8 points from a possible 10 thus far.
Elsewhere, Gary Stone also ended the day on 8 points, but sits in 2nd behind Van Velzen due to leg difference, whilst James Welding sits in 3rd on 6 points, Adam Mould in 4th on 4 points, with Donny Scheuerwater and Ivan Springborg Poulsen sitting 5th and 6th respectively on 2 points each.
The ADC Global Championship continues on Tuesday with the six players returning, hoping to further increase their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with Van Velzen leading the way thus far. Play will begin at 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
