Sam Spivey was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week Three at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Ronan McDonagh in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 top prize.
Spivey, who entered the finale having won Group C on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning both of his group phase matches, as he defeated Ronan McDonagh and Charlie Large to progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Carl Sneyd, and from there, Spivey defeated his compatriot, 4-3, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Spivey came up against Ronan McDonagh for the second time on the night, who’d defeated Alexander Masek in the last four, and once again, the Englishman got the better of his Irish opponent, 4-1, to become the third player to seal a place in Champions Week of Series Ten, as well as collecting £5,000 in prize money.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week Four, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field including Richie Howson, Justin Smith and Danny Van Trijp.
Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
