Mervyn King and Jenson Walker were among those who secured their places in Saturday’s Champions Week finale on Friday.
The pair came through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Scott Campbell, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Walker, who entered Friday’s play on 8 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall after winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Mervyn King, Alec Small, Reece Robinson and Jarred Cole, with his only defeat coming against David Evans, to end on 16 points from a possible 20 overall.
Elsewhere, Mervyn King also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 14 points, whilst David Evans and Jarred Cole finished 3rd and 4th respectively on 10 points each, with Reece Robinson finishing 5th on 8 points and Alec Small bottom on 2 points.
In Group B, Sam Spivey topped the group overall, despite only winning two of his four
matches on Friday Evening, as he recorded victories against David Davies and Shane
McGuirk, with his two defeats coming against Derek Coulson and Devon Petersen, to end on 10 points from a possible 16 overall.
Elsewhere, Derek Coulson and David Davies also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively on 8 points each, edging past Shane McGuirk, who also ended on 8 points, but missed out in 4th due to leg difference, whilst Devon Petersen finished bottom on 6 points.
The Modus Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Champions Week with the six players battling it out for the £20,000 first prize, with play commencing from 7:30pm BST.
