Netherlands Nail Inaugural International Pairs Title

Jimmy Van Schie & Danny Van Trijp (Netherlands) were victorious on Saturday as they were crowned the winners of International Pairs Week at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Richie Burnett & Kurt Parry (Wales) in the final and claiming the £5,000 top prize.

Van Schie & Van Trijp, who entered the finale having finished 3^rd in Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of their two group phase matches, as they firstly suffered a defeat to Richie Burnett & Kurt Parry (Wales), before defeating Mervyn King & Steve West (England) to progress through to the Semi Finals, where they then came up against Scott Campbell & John Henderson (Scotland), and from there, the Dutch duo defeated their Scottish opponents, 4-3, to book their place in the final.

In the decider, Van Schie & Van Trijp came up against Burnett & Parry for the second time on the night, who’d defeated Brian Raman & Xanti Van den Bergh (Belgium) in the last four, and this time the Dutch pairing got their revenge against their Welsh opponents, as Van Schie & Van Trijp sealed a 4-1 victory to become the inaugural winners of International Pairs Week at the Super Series.

The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with Series 11 commencing and the start of Week One, with the first of three days of Group A and the field including Mervyn King, as well as Former PDC Tour Card Holders in Jeff Smith and David Evans. Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
