Adam Gawlas was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week Six at the MODUS Super Series, after defeating Charlie Manby in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly top prize.
Gawlas, who entered the finale having finished 3rd in Group B on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his two group phase matches, as he firstly lost his opener to Charlie Manby, before whitewashing Ciaran Teehan to progress through to the Semi Finals.
At that stage, Gawlas came up against Ronan McDonagh and from there, the Former UK Open Semi Finalist defeated his Irish opponent, 4-1, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Gawlas came up against Charlie Manby for the second time on the night, who’d defeated Wales’ Martin Thomas in the last four, and this time the Czech star got his revenge against Manby as Gawlas sealed a deciding leg victory at 4-3 to book his place in Champions Week for the first time as well as collecting the weekly winner’s cheque.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the fourth edition of Women’s Week, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field Former Women’s Week Winner Kirsi Viinikainen. Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the MODUS YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
