Champions Week: Usher Keeps Group A Lead

Graham Usher maintained his position at the top of the table on Tuesday, after winning three of his five matches on Day Two and will look to secure his place in Saturday’s Champions Week finale, going into the final day of Group A on Wednesday.

Usher, who entered Tuesday’s play on 10 points from the opening day of Group A, won three matches from five to remain at the top of the table, as he recorded victories against Jurjen Van der Velde, Derek Coulson and Scott Taylor, with his two defeats coming against Jimmy Van Schie and Shane McGuirk, to sit on 16 points from a possible 20 overall.

Elsewhere, Jimmy Van Schie and Jurjen Van der Velde are the closest competitors to Usher, with the Dutch pair sitting 2nd and 3rd respectively overall on 12 points each, whilst Derek Coulson and Scott Taylor sit 4th and 5th on 8 points each, with Shane McGuirk sitting bottom on 4 points.

The MODUS Super Series continues on Wednesday with the six players returning on the final day of Group A, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Champions Week Finale, with Usher leading the way thus far.

Players who finish in places 2-6 will be split into two groups during Thursday and Friday’s play with Afternoon and Evening sessions taking place on both days, as well as new players entering the fray.

Play will begin at 9:30am BST on Wednesday and will be streamed live on the MODUS YouTube channel, Pluto TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
