Carl Wilkinson was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week One at the twelfth MODUS Super Series, after defeating Brian Raman in the final, securing a place in Champions Week and pocketing the weekly first prize.
Wilkinson, who entered the finale having won Group C on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning both of his group phase matches, as he defeated Kurt Parry and Brian Raman to progress.
In the Semi Finals, where he came up against Stijn Deklerck, whobhad impressed earlier in the week by winning Group A, Wilkinson defeated his Belgian opponent, 4-1, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Wilkinson would come up against another Belgian in Brian Raman.The Riddler had defeated Ronan McDonagh his last four clash and, in a battle between two Former PDC Tour Card Holders, it was newly signed Winmau man Wilkinson who came out on top, sealed a 4-1 victory to become the first player through to Champions Week of Series 12 as well as collecting the weekly winner cheque.
The MODUS Super Series returns on Monday for the start of Week Two, with the first of three days of Group A commencing and the field including Series Five Champion Jim McEwan.
