Ashley Coleman, Mark McGeeney, Lee Cocks, David Evans and Jack Tweddell all secured their places in Saturday’s finale on Friday after coming through their respective groups at the Modus Super Series, to join Graham Usher, the winner of Group A earlier in the week.
Coleman, who entered Friday’s play on 6 points from the opening day of Group C, topped the group overall after completing a clean sweep with five wins from five, as he recorded victories against Damian Palaszewski, Mark McGeeney, Kevin Burness, Gary Hayes and Manpreet Kalsi, to end on 16 points from a possible 20 overall.
Elsewhere, Mark McGeeney also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after finishing 2nd overall on 14 points, whilst Kevin Burness finished 3rd on 12 points, Gary Hayes in 4th on 10 points, Manpreet Kalsi in 5th on 6 points and Damian Palaszewski bottom on 2 points.
In Group B, Lee Cocks topped the group overall after winning three of his four matches on Friday Evening, as he recorded victories against Jack Tweddell, David Evans and Adrian Gray, with his only defeat coming against Colin Osborne, to end on 12 points from a possible 16 overall.
Elsewhere, David Evans and Jack Tweddell also progressed through to Saturday’s finale, after the pair finished 2nd and 3rd respectively overall on 10 points each, whilst Colin Osborne finished 4th on 6 points and Adrian Gray bottom on 2 points.
Osborne fought valiantly to overturn a terrible run of results from Thursday night. His three wins from four were not quite enough to force a countback scenario. However the Wizard’s bespectacled debut, and reversion to a previously successful set-up, bodes well for the future.

The MODUS Super Series continues on Saturday with the conclusion of Week Six with the six players battling it out for just one spot up for grabs at Champions Week, with play commencing from 7:30pm BST.
