Steve Green was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week One at the MODUS Super Series, after defeating Henry Coates in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 first prize.
Green, who entered the finale having finished 2nd in Group C on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning just one of his two group phase matches as he firstly whitewashed George Killington before suffering a defeat to Lee Cocks.

However, the Welshman did progress through to the Semi Finals where he came up against Danny Ayres and from there Green defeated Ayres 4-3 to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Green came up against Henry Coates, who’d defeated Lee Cocks in the last four, and in a battle between Youth and Experience, it was experience that got the better as Green defeated Coates 4-2 to seal the first spot into Champions Week of Series 13 as well as collecting the £5,000 top prize.
The MODUS Super Series returns on Monday for the start of Week Two, with the first of three days of Group A commencing and the field including Former Weekly Winners in Matt Clark and Carl Wilkinson.
