Three Out of Four Ain’t Bad: Tim’s ADA Treble

Diamond Draws Competitions

Tim Pusey produced the standout performance of the Australian Darts Association (ADA) Tour’s Victoria weekend, and secured three of the four ranking events and underlining his credentials as one of the country’s leading players.

The Perth thrower began the weekend in impressive fashion by claiming Friday’s opening tournament. After overcoming Joe Comito in a deciding-leg semi-final, Pusey defeated Brody Klinge 6-4 in the final to secure his fourth ADA ranking title.

He carried that momentum into Saturday’s first event, continuing his excellent form throughout the day. Having eliminated Raymond Smith earlier in the competition, Pusey edged local player Stuart Coburn in a closely contested final to complete back-to-back tournament victories. Coburn, who lives close to the venue in Victoria, delivered one of the strongest performances of the weekend despite falling just short of the title.

Saturday’s second event saw Joe Comito prevent Pusey from completing a clean sweep. Comito produced an outstanding display to defeat Pusey 6-1 in the quarter-finals before progressing past Mal Cumming and Howard Jones to secure the title. The victory added another different winner to the 2026 ADA Tour and highlighted the growing depth of competition behind the established frontrunners.

Coburn also achieved a notable milestone during the tournament by recording a nine-dart finish against Josh Kime. Although he ultimately lost the match, the perfect leg made him only the second player in ADA history to achieve the feat in official competition.

The final event on Sunday was contested under the tour’s set-play format rather than the match-play format used earlier in the weekend. The change in structure made little difference to Pusey, who maintained his exceptional standard throughout the competition. He met Comito in the final and reversed the previous day’s defeat to complete a remarkable hat-trick of tournament victories across the weekend.

Following the conclusion of play, places for the upcoming PDC World Series events were confirmed. Raymond Smith earned qualification for the New Zealand Masters, while the Australian contingent for the Wollongong Masters will comprise Smith, Brody Klinge, Tim Pusey, Joe Comito and Darren Penhall.

Overall, the Victoria stop produced two new tournament winners for the season, with Pusey’s three-title haul representing one of the most dominant individual performances seen on the ADA Tour in recent years.
