ROSS Smith produced a dominant display on finals night at the MVM Dome to lift the Hungarian Darts Trophy, thrashing Gary Anderson 8-2 in the final.
‘Smudger’ averaged close to 97 and converted eight of his 11 attempts at a double to secure a comprehensive victory and the £35,000 top prize. The win marked another strong European Tour performance from the Englishman.
Quarter-finals
Danny Noppert edged past Dirk van Duijvenbode 6-5 in a tight contest. Ross Smith was clinical in a 6-2 dismissal of Dave Chisnall. Gary Anderson came through a high-quality battle against Gian van Veen, winning 6-5.Nathan Aspinall also needed a deciding leg, overcoming Chris Dobey 6-5.
Semi-finals
Smith continued his strong form by beating Noppert 7-3.Anderson edged a closely fought semi-final against Aspinall to set up the final.
The Unicorn thrower then took complete control in the best-of-15 final, racing into a commanding lead and never allowing Anderson a way back into the match.
The victory completes a fine run through the draw for the Kent thrower. Congratulations to Ross Smith, the 2026 Hungarian Darts Trophy champion.
