GERWYN PRICE produced a mixed but ultimately successful performance to reach round two of the 2026 World Series of Darts Finals, defeating Brody Klinge 6-4 in Amsterdam.
The Welsh number one raced into a commanding 5-0 lead and missed just one dart at double all match. However, Klinge, fought back strongly with a four-leg surge that included two ton-plus checkouts, forcing Price to dig deep.
The Australian has been in excellent form all Summer and was considered a possible banana skin for Price.
The Iceman halted Klinge’s comebaak and eventually sealed the win with a 14-dart hold of throw.
“I started off well and then dropped off and let Brody back into the game,” Price admitted.
“He took out a couple of big checkouts which hurt a little bit, so then it was about trying to fall across the winning line.”
Looking ahead, Price remains optimistic about the rest of the season.
“We’re going into the back end of the season now and I believe there are some majors that I can win, and some that I’m targeting as well.”
He will face Canada’s Jim Long in round two.
