Ross Smith produced a stunning display of power and precision to claim the 2026 World Series of Darts Finals title with an 11-5 victory over Gerwyn Price at the AFAS Live in Amsterdam on Sunday night.
The Englishman, known as “Smudger”, secured the second TV title of his career and his first since 2022, pocketing the £100,000 top prize in front of a lively Dutch crowd.
Smith was simply unstoppable in the final, averaging in the mid-to-high 100s at times and giving the two-time World Series Finals champion Price little chance to settle.
Price, who had looked sharp in an 11-7 semi-final win over fellow Welshman Jonny Clayton, never recovered from a strong start by Smith.
The Iceman was left frustrated by missed doubles at key moments, while Smith remained clinical on the outer ring and relentless on the trebles.
The final capped a remarkable weekend for Smith, who had earlier seen off Josh Rock 10-7 in the quarters and home favourite Gian van Veen 11-8 in the semis.
His run was one of the stories of the tournament, coming in a field that saw defending champion Michael van Gerwen exit in the first round and world No. 1 Luke Littler’s clean-sweep hopes ended by Clayton in the last eight.
Smith’s triumph marks a significant landmark in a career that has often seen him flirt with the very top without quite consistently stepping up.
