The Tour Card Holder qualifier for the last ten spots at the Grand Slam was completed in Leicester, and top seed Stephen Bunting came through unscathed at Mattioli Arena to make Wolverhampton next week.

While others such as Danny Noppert, Damon Heta, Peter Wright and Daryl Gurney all fell in round one of the event, Bunting started with a 101.55 average to whitewash Arno Merk 5-0, and after getting past Callan Rydz 5-3, ‘The Bullet’ defeated Jimmy van Schie 5-2 with another 101 average to secure his place at Aldersley Leisure Village.

Ricky Evans got a much needed late season boost, as he came through the field, backing up wins against Thomas Lovely and William O’Connor with a final-round win against Cristo Reyes.

‘Rapid’ was 3-0 down to the Spaniard, but found finishes of 161, 70, 100 and a match-winning 124 to seal a 5-3 victory.

Joe Cullen was another to make Wolverhampton, and another to come from 3-0 down to do so as he overcame Michael Smith in the final round.

Niko Springer qualified in some style, averaging over 112 in a 5-1 last round win against Stefan Henderyck, and Bradley Brooks averaged over 106 to eliminate Dave Chisnall in a 5-2 win to advance.

Rusty-Jake Rodriguez’s 5-2 win against Tom Bissell sealed his place, and Alan Soutar came through 5-3 at the expense of former World Grand Prix winner Mike De Decker.

Maik Kuivenhoven took an all-Dutch battle with Chris Landman to punch his maiden ticket to the Black Country, and Carl Sneyd will make a debut after taking out Andy Boulton in the final round.

The final spot was claimed by Tom Sykes, who will also make his debut at the Slam as he won 5-3 against Adam Leek.

The Grand Slam runs from 14-22 November.
