After an incredibly eventful couple of days on the ProTour in Leicester, the 2027 World Darts Championship is really starting to shape up. A few more Premier Events left that are unlikely to change the field other than the order of the seedings, so the remaining spots are to come from the International Qualifiers, of which three are to be confirmed this weekend.
The 2026 CDC Continental Cup begins on Friday evening, with the top 24 players from the 2026 CDC Tour competing for their final spot at the World Championships. The top eight players are seeded through to the Last 16 and will be joined by the eight winners from tonight’s play. The final session gets underway from 10:30pm GMT in Newfoundland from the Quarter-Finals onwards.
While the winner will qualify for the World Championships, there are four players competing that are already confirmed, so some scenarios come into play. Fred Krueger has qualified by being the highest ranked un-qualified American on the CDC Tour, so if he wins it’ll get passed down to Leonard Gates. Brayden Hall is the same but as the highest ranked Canadian, if he wins the spot goes to Kiley Edmunds. Sevada and Cameron have qualified by winning the other two CDC majors, so if they win the spot goes to the highest ranked un-qualified player on the CDC Tour – also Leonard Gates.
The second spot this weekend is on offer to the winner of the Nordic & Baltic Championship, who also would qualify for the Grand Slam. This kicks off on Friday, with the group stage taking place, before the Quarter-Finals get underway on Sunday from midday GMT, with the top 24 players form the 2026 Nordic & Baltic Tour taking part.
Should Daniel Larsson, Cor Dekker, or Darius Labanauskas win, the spot at the World Championships will get passed down to third spot on the Nordic & Baltic Tour – Jani Haavisto.
The third and final spot on offer this weekend comes from Spain with the Mediterranean Qualifier, which saw Cristo Reyes come through in 2025.
A few big names on the entry list, such as Jose de Sousa, Thibault Tricole, Michele Turetta, Jose Justicia, and Jesus Noguera, but also the potentially exciting returns of Gibraltar’s Nico Bado and Dyson Parody. Former World Cup players such as Craig Galliano, Justin Hewitt, Jose Marques, Riccardo Castelli, and Carlos Rodriguez also there.
Could be a very interesting result in Spain, with the scores trackable on Nakka darts on Sunday.
