It’s fair to say that few, if any, have generated the kind of reaction as that generated by the ADC’s World Darts Open.

With a total prize fund of £40,000, The Winmau World Darts Open will be one of the biggest events with an option to simply pay and play.

The first weekend of the Winmau Championship Tour took place in the Rainton Area in the North East of England,- a current hotbed of darting success - a featured a pair of £1000 events with additional qualifications and ranking points at stake.

Atkinson won the Winmau Sky Lounge Ranking Series Event 4 on Saturday, earning 64 points for his victory after beating Shaun Williams 5-1 in the Final.
