Ronnie Baxter is the latest addition to the field for the World Seniors Matchplay after accepting his invite to play in the latest addition to the World Seniors Tour
The recently revealed 2nd tournament of the World Seniors Tour will be played at the Bonus Arena in July and will of course feature 16 time winner World Matchplay winner Phil Taylor. Also already announced are original (PDC) World Matchplay winner Larry Butler as well as legends including Martin Adams, John Part and Peter Evison.
‘The Rocket’ is a previous runner-up in the Blackpool event and is an obvious choice as World Seniors expands to include a World Championship, World Masters and now a World Matchplay.
Baxter played at the qualifier for the World Championship but was both unsuccessful and unhappy at needing to qualify.
Taylor and Adams were confirmed at the initial announcement and it would appear that all those over 50 who were successful at the event will be offered invitations.
With the recent complete retirement of Dennis Priestley it is likely that there will be additional spaces available.
