PDC Unicorn Challenge Tour Events 1 & 2 Scott Williams made it a perfect double on Friday, in picking up the opening two events of the 2022 PDC Unicorn Challenge Tour season, as the yearly second-tier tour commenced in Milton Keynes.

Last week saw PDC Q School take place, with 32 Tour Cards given out across both fields in Milton Keynes and Niedernhausen. In Event 1, England’s Scott Williams picked up the 1st Challenge Tour title of his career, as he dropped just 19 legs in reaching the decider, in recording victories over Andrew Hyland, Jim Moston, Mark McGeeney, Conor Heneghan, Jimmy Bristow, Darryl Pilgrim, Darren Johnson, and Danny Lauby, to set up a clash with Robert Owen.

The final began with Owen taking the opener in 19 darts, before Williams won three on the spin to take a 3-1 lead with winning legs in 18,17 and 11 darts respectively. Owen halved the deficit in leg five, before Williams won back-to-back legs to take the tie 5-2 and pick up the £2,000 1st prize.

In Event 2, Williams went all the way again, as he dropped 16 legs in reaching the decider, after recording victories over Brandon Western, David Pallett, Robert Collins, Pete Burgoyne, Scott Taylor, Scott Marsh and Karel Sedlacek, to set up a clash with Lee Evans. The final began with Evans taking the opener in 18 darts, before Williams moved ahead in winning back-to-back legs in 14 and 18 darts, which followed by a break back by Evans to level up the tie at 2-2. Williams then won three on the spin, which saw him seal the victory, 5-2, and pick up back-to-back crowns on a remarkable day in Milton Keynes.

The first PDC Unicorn Challenge Tour weekend of 2022 continues on Saturday, with Events 3 & 4 taking place in Milton Keynes, with play commencing at 10:00 GMT, as all live scores and results can be viewed at tv.dartconnect.com.
