Dan Read was victorious on Saturday, in winning Week 1 of Phase 2 at the Online Darts Live League, to secure his place in Champions Week, after defeating James Richardson in the final, with Paul Hogan winning the 3rd place playoff.
Read, who entered the finale having won Group B on Thursday and Friday, won both of his group phase matches in defeating Jarred Cole and Paul Hogan to progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Justin Smith, and seen the Welsh thrower off in a last leg decider to book his spot in the final and a spot in Champions Week, no matter the outcome of the decider.
In the final, Read took on James Richardson, who also won both of his group phase matches on the night, and dispatched ‘Ruthless’ 4-1 to take the Week 1 crown of Phase 2 at the Online Darts Live League.
Elsewhere, beaten Semi Finalists Paul Hogan and Justin Smith competed in a 3rd place playoff to see who would join Read and Richardson in Champions Week, and it was Hogan who was victorious, in coming out as a 4-3 victor.
Online Darts Live League returns on Monday with Week 2 commencing with the first of two days of Group A, with the field to be confirmed in due course. Play will commence from 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on Online Darts TV YouTube channel or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
