IN two groups stacked with for champions and weekly winners fortunes varied at in Portsmouth on Thursday.
Johnny Haines and Jamie Owens took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Scott Robertson in Saturday’s Finale at the MODUS Super Series.
Haines, who last competed at the Super Series back in May, made a perfect return by taking the early lead in Group C after completing a clean sweep with five wins from five, as he recorded victories against Chuck Puleo, Francesco Basili, Scott Winder, Lewis Cook and Jake
Neale, to sit on a maximum 10 points from a possible 10 thus far.
Elsewhere, Lewis Cook and Jake Neale ended the day 2nd and 3rd respectively on 6 points each, whilst Scott Winder sits in 4th on 4 points, with Francesco Basili and Chuck Puleo sitting 5th and 6th on 2 points each.
In Group B, Jamie Owens took the early lead after completing a clean sweep with four wins from four on Thursday Evening, as he recorded victories against Reece Robinson, Steve West, Conan Whitehead and Scott Taylor, to sit on a maximum 8 points from a possible 8 thus far.
Elsewhere, Reece Robinson ended the night in 2nd on 6 points, Steve West in 3rd on 4 points, Conan Whitehead in 4th on 2 points and Scott Taylor bottom on 0 points having suffered four straight defeats.
The MODUS Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Scott Robertson in Saturday’s Finale, with Haines and Owens taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 1pm BST and Group B will commence from10pm BST.
