Robert Owen took the early lead on Monday, in ending Day 1 of Group A, top, after winning four of his five matches, with the opening week of Stage 2 commencing at the Modus Super Series.
After 12 weeks of action, Champions Week of Stage 1 saw Conan Whitehead become the inaugural Modus Super Series winner, as he picked up a record-breaking £20,000 in prize money last Saturday.
Owen, who featured in Champions Week of Stage 1, made his return to the Super Series by taking the early lead in Group A, as he recorded victories over James Hurrell, Michael Huntley, Kevin Garcia and Jim McEwan, with his only defeat coming against Shane McGuirk.
Elsewhere, three players in James Hurrell, Jim McEwan and Shane McGuirk sit 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively on 6 points each, as debutants Michael Huntley and Kevin Garcia sit 5th and 6th, with Huntley sitting on 4 points and Garcia on 0 points, having suffered five defeats from five.
The Modus Super Series continues on Tuesday with the six players returning, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with Owen leading the way thus far. Play will begin at 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
