Raymond Smith took the early lead on Monday, in ending Day 1 of Group A, top, after winning all five of his matches, with Week 7 of Stage 2 commencing at the Modus Super Series.
Debutant Smith, who will compete at the PDC World Championship later this month, took the early lead on Day 1 of Group A, as he recorded victories over Adam Atkinson, Ciaran Teehan, Jeroen Mioch, Ben Robb and Danny Van Trijp, with the Aussie thrower dropping just six legs along the way.
Elsewhere, further debutants Ben Robb and Jeroen Mioch ended the day 2nd and 3rd on 8 and 6 points respectively, as Danny Van Trijp sits in 4th on 4 points, Adam Atkinson in 5th on 2 points and Ciaran Teehan bottom on 0 points, having suffered five defeats from five.
The Modus Super Series continues on Tuesday with the six players returning, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with Smith leading the way thus far.
Play will begin at 9:30am GMT and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
