Tony Wood moved top of the ADC Rankings for the first time in his career, after winning the Globe Gateshead event to earn 64 points in his hometown. The player who hit the maiden ADC 9 dart leg claimed a 5-1 win in the Final to move onto 324 points, 20 points clear of Simon Perkins in 2nd

Wood also won a competition at the Globe Hotel in the middle of February, including 2 180s to beat good friend Raymond Marshall 6-5 in a last-leg decider. The Gateshead thrower included a 76 check out in the fourth leg to break the throw in the Final, starting the year in very good fashion. 

The 55-year-old has also featured in the ADC Vault Series, as the first stage of round-robin competitions are still in progress with the race to secure qualification to the MODUS Super Series still on.

Paul Nesbitt leads the way in the Northeast division, with 12 points separating the leader and the ADC Number 1 in second. Nezzy has won 8 competitions since the start of the year sitting on 123 points in the rankings table, with the 2nd Series of the regional round competitions starting on the 3rd of April. 

The Englishman’s last victory came in February after he beat Jock Lyons 3-1 in the Final at the South Gosforth Sports and Social Club. Nesbitt has reached the 2 Finals since the start of March, with the Northeast Leader losing out to Tony Wood 3-1, as the ADC Number 1 included a first three dart average of 110.58. 

Stephen Cake still leads the way in the Wales region with 89 points, claiming the 6 wins since the start of the year as he sits 15 points clear of 2nd placed Dewi Beynon. 

The Welshman has led the Wales Vault Series since January, winning two round-robin tournaments over the course of three days beating Red Dragon Champion of Champions winner Alec Small 3-1 in 1 Final, including a first 3 dart average of 107.25. 

Samuel Price heads the Midlands Region with 78 points, leading Daniel Lee in second by 9 points with over two weeks still to go in the first series. 

The Englishman has won 4 times since January, with Danny Lauby winning the most recent competition at Riley’s in Coventry, beating second-placed Lee 3-1 in the Final including a 97 checkout in the second leg. 

The 1st Series of the Vault Round Robin competition runs for over two weeks, with Northern Ireland joining as a new region for the second dose of daily round-robin tungsten action. 

The Winmau Open Series is also coming up on the 8th and 9th of April, as 4 places are on offer to appear in the MODUS Super Series at Wythenshawe Forum in Manchester with 4 competitions set to take place and a total prize pot of £9,800.
