The JDC Foundation Tour continued over the weekend, with four more events taking place in Coventry over Saturday and Sunday. Riley Rees-Tucker put in another great performance, claiming another 2 titles and cements his spot at the summit of the foundation tour order of merit.
With over 450 entries over the weekend, it was another successful foray into foundation tour action for many. But it was Rees-Tucker who doubled his tally of event wins this season in the JDC. But it was Charlie Stocks who was victorious in the opening event of the weekend. Whitewash victorious recorded in the opening four rounds, before eventually dropping two legs to Owen Rhead. Stocks would then go on to defeat Harry Franklin and Jack Johnson on the way to his first JDC title of the year.
Rees-Tucker would then spring into life in event two, defeating Stocks 5-0 in the final. A showreel performance would come in a 3-0 win over Harrison Leigh, the young Welshman averaging 92 and there was plenty more to come.
There was a crowning moment for Jack Nankervis in event three as he was given a standing ovation following his winning double against Rees-Tucker. Nankervis had earlier come through a gruelling encounter with Ireland’s Adam Dee, but saved his best performance for the final win over Rees-Tucker.
The dominance of Rees-Tucker would continue in the final event of the weekend as he claimed his fourth event win in eight outings. An 85 average was enough to see off Leo Howard in the last 16, before sailing past Jordan Preece and Blake Walker. Mason Teese would put up some resistance in the final but couldn’t stop Rees-Tucker extending his lead at the top of the Foundation Tour order of merit with yet another title.
