Lukas Wenig was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Week Nine at the Modus Super Series, after defeating John Henderson in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 1st prize.
Wenig, who entered the finale having finished 2nd in Group B on Thursday & Friday, won just one of his group phase matches, as he lost his opener to John Henderson, before defeating Chris Gilliland to progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Neil Duff, and on this occasion, the German defeated the WDF World Champion, 4-2, to book his place in the final.
In the decider, Wenig came up against John Henderson for the 2nd time on the night, where he eventually got his revenge over the Scotsman for his defeat earlier in the evening, as he took the tie 4-2 to pick up the Week 9 crown, the £5,000 1st prize and secure a spot at Champions Week.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week 10, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field to be announced in due course.
Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
