Nijman and Bialecki Bag Titles

Wessel Nijman and Sebastian Bialecki were victorious on Friday, in winning Development Tour Events Six & Seven respectively, as the second weekend of the PDC’s Youth Tour season commenced at the Robin Park Tennis Centre, Wigan.

Dutchman Nijman, who returned to PDC action last month for the first time in over three years, reached the final in Event Six, by recording victories against Cam Crabtree, Rohan Brouwers, Alfie Thompson, Damian Vetjens, Rusty-Jake Rodriguez, Luke Littler and Owen Roelofs, to set up a clash with Scotsman, Nathan Girvan.

Nothing separated the pair throughout the final, with seven straight breaks of throw, before Nijman broke Girvan’s throw for the first time in Leg Eight, which saw the Dutchman seal a 5-3 victory with a 13 darter to pick up a third Development Tour crown of his career.

In Event Seven, Sebastian Bialecki was victorious, as he reached the final firstly by recording victories against Damian Vetjens, Zac Griffiths, Matthew Chegwin, Craig Galliano, Ciaran Teehan and Nathan Girvan, to set up a clash with the Former WDF World Youth Champion, Leighton Bennett.

The final began with Bennett taking the opener in 17 darts, before Bialecki raced in front, by winning four straight legs in a total of 63 darts to move within one of victory. Bennett did cause a fightback and won three consecutive legs to force a deciding leg, with the 17-year-old missing multiple match darts, which allowed Bialecki to pounce, in which he did so by pinning Double 16 for a 19 darter to pick up a third Development Tour crown of his career.

PDC Winmau Development Tour weekend continues on Saturday, with Events Eight & Nine taking place in Wigan, with play commencing at 10:30 BST, as all live scores and results can be viewed at tv.dartconnect.com.
