Berry Van Peer was victorious on Saturday as he crowned the winner of Week Six at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Scott Taylor in the final to secure a place in Champions Week and winning the weekly £5,000 top prize.
Van Peer, who entered the finale having finished 3rd in Group B on Thursday and Friday, won just one of his group phase matches, as he lost his opener firstly to Fallon Sherrock, before defeating Alec Small to progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Jim Long.
This time it was a deciding leg victory that sealed it for the Dutchman, to defeat the Canadian, 4-3, and book his place in the evening’s finale.
In the decider, Van Peer came up against Scott Taylor, who’d whitewashed Alec Small in the last four, and from there, the ‘Bionic’ defeated his fellow Former PDC Tour Card Holder, 4-2, to book his place in Champions Week, claiming the Week Six crown and the £5,000 weekly first prize.
The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with the start of Week Seven, with the first of three days of Group A commencing, with the field to be announced in due course.
Play will commence from 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
