King and Claydon Lead MSS

Robbie King and Brett Claydon took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Jeroen Mioch in the Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.

King, who appeared in last week’s Week 11 of Series Four, made a quick return to the Super Series by taking the early lead in Group C, after winning four of his five matches and recording victories against Gino Vos, Dan Read, Charlie Large and Reece Colley, with his only defeat coming against Lewis Gurney.

Elsewhere, Gurney also ended the day on 8 points, but sits behind King on leg difference, whilst Read sits in 3rd on 6 points, Vos in 4th on 4 points, with Large and Colley sitting 5th and 6th respectively on 2 points each.

In Group B, Brett Claydon took the early lead, with the Former Tour Card Holder winning three of his four matches, as he recorded victories against Martin Adams, Mark McGeeney and Conor Heneghan, with his only defeat coming against Robert Thornton.

Elsewhere, Heneghan and Thornton also ended the evening on 6 points each, but sit 2nd and 3rd respectively behind Claydon on leg difference, whilst McGeeney sits in 4th on 2 points.

It was a disappointing evening for Martin Adams, who failed to register a victory, having suffered four defeats from four.

Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Jeroen Mioch in Saturday’s finale, with King and Claydon taking the early lead thus far.

Group C will commence from 1pm BST and Group B will commence from 10pm BST.
