David Schlichting and Tom Lonsdale took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Reece Robinson in Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.
Schlichting, who entered Group C having finished 5th in Group A earlier in the week, took the early lead, after winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Andy Hamilton, Scott Taylor, James Richardson and Steve Brown, with his only defeat coming against Jarno Bottenberg.
Elsewhere, Scott Taylor and Jarno Bottenberg ended the day 2nd and 3rd respectively overall on 6 points each, whilst James Richardson and Steve Brown sit 4th and 5th on 4 points each, with Andy Hamilton sitting bottom on 2 points.
In Group B, Tom Lonsdale took the early lead, after winning three of his four matches, as he recorded victories against David Davies, Kevin Edwards and Matthew Dennant, with his only defeat coming against Lee Cocks.
Elsewhere, Matthew Dennant ended the evening in 2nd on 6 points, behind Lonsdale on leg difference, whilst Lee Cocks sits in 3rd on 4 points, with David Davies and Kevin Edwards sitting 4th and 5th respectively on 2 points each.
Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Reece Robinson in Saturday’s finale, with Schlichting and Lonsdale taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 1pm BST and Group B will commence from 10pm BST.
