The last-16 stage of the Hungarian Darts Trophy (European Tour Event 11) produced a strong set of results at the MVM Dome on Sunday afternoon, setting up an intriguing quarter-final line-up later this evening.
Chris Dobey produced one of the standout performances, defeating Josh Rock 6-3 to book his place in the last eight. The Geordie was clinical when it mattered and closed out the match efficiently against a Rock side that never quite found its rhythm.
Nathan Aspinall continued his solid run by overturning a deficit against Michael van Gerwen. The three-time world champion led 3-1, but Aspinall fought back strongly to claim a 6-4 victory, ending MvG’s hopes of adding a second Hungarian Darts Trophy title.

The Dutch contingent enjoyed a productive afternoon. Dirk van Duijvenbode followed up his Saturday shock win over Luke Humphries by beating Rob Cross 6-4. Danny Noppert edged Ryan Searle 6-4, while Gian van Veen progressed with a 6-3 success against Jermaine Wattimena.
Former champion Dave Chisnall was in commanding form, dismissing Keane Barry 6-2. Ross Smith also advanced, overcoming Jonny Clayton 6-4, and Gary Anderson came through a tight contest against Stephen Bunting, winning 6-5.
