McGoldricks: The Glasgow Gold Standard?

Red Dragon Darts

THIS weeks travels with have seen me in Glasgow, Scotland, I do love this place. Looking for a board for a practice was not hard to find, but after a suggestion by Neil of @Neilsdarts on X (formerly Twitter) who apparently knew the place to go!

On Main Street in Rutherglen, Glasgow you will find McGoldrick’s opposite the town hall.

First impression was how professional and new it looked. The décor was sleek and modern. There are different zones for Snooker, Bar pool, American pool and Darts: 8 darts ‘lanes’ with Winmau Blade 6 boards, custom surrounds and Target Corona Lights. Wipe boards for marking.

This establishment holds ADC Vault events on Wednesdays (I’ll keep that in mind), and competitions from time to time. The set up is great, perfect for competitions and for tonight’s practice.

Drink selection was the usual fair and excellent.
Plenty of food for thought here!

Safe to say when I’m in the area again this is destination darts for me. Hopefully I get to see my good friend and MC of the Lakeside, Anthony Dundas.

In my early days of these reports and from a strictly darting perspective, this is the best so far.

McGoldrick’s 9.6/10

Do you know a venue this good? Is there a venue more for a quiet practice than a tournament? Is there a great jukebox? Send me your suggestions @AJUrmstonToft on X (Formerly Twitter). I may come done for a throw. Remember I bring the darts you supply the board.
