Robert Thornton took the early lead on Tuesday, in ending Day One of Group A, top, after winning four of his five matches, with the Modus Super Series returning for the start of Week Seven of Series Six.
2x World Seniors Champion, Thornton, made his return to the Super Series by taking the early lead in Group A, with the Scottish Veteran winning four matches from five, as he recorded victories against Colin Osborne, Darryl Pilgrim, Conan Whitehead and Jeroen Caron, with his only defeat coming against Chris Landman.
Elsewhere, three players in Landman, Caron and Osborne ended the day 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively overall on 6 points each, whilst Whitehead and Pilgrim sit 5th and 6th on 2 points each.
The Modus Super Series continues on Wednesday with the six players returning on the final day of Group A, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with Thornton leading the way thus far.
Players who finish in places 2-6 will be split into two groups for Thursday and Friday’s play with Afternoon and Evening sessions taking place on both days, as well as new players entering the fray.
Play will begin at 9:30am GMT on Wednesday and will be streamed live on The Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
