PDC Q-School Underway

Red Dragon Darts

Today sees the annual darting dream factory open. Where players from all over are attempting to earn on of the 30 golden tickets for the pro tour. Having played in this event multiple times, I know how they will all be feeling.

The percentages are slim, but 2 really good runs can be the difference between being on the pro tour or not. All players involved will be more than capable. It’s all down to preparation for these long days.

The first stage sees 8 players each day progress to phase 2. The rest will be based on the Order of Merit.

With plenty of notable names like 3 times former World Champion, John Part and former Wold Gramd Prix Champion Robert Thornton playing throw in former Tour card holders like Dave Evans, Scott Taylor and Adrian Grey.

Darts World is represented this year by Colin The Wizard Osborne. The former Champions League of Darts Winner, and multiple Pro Tour event winner, is looking to re join the elite tour after a 7 year hiatus.

Add a sprinkle of youngster like Jenson Walker and Leighton Bennett and Jonathan Banks into the mix and you’re gonna have some great matches!

Q School is a very unpredictable and difficult event to predict and to take part in. Already this morning we witnessed the in-form back-to-back World Senior champion, Robert Thornton knocked out ion the pre-lim (5120) round.

Other recognisable names got off to a better start with both Danny Lauby and Alex Spellman looking strong for the USA.

I look forward to review each day!
