Oskar Lukasiak and Stefan Bellmont were victorious on Saturday at the PDC Winmau Challenge Tour, in winning Events Three & Four respectively, as the opening weekend of the second-tier tour season continued in Milton Keynes.

Friday saw the 2024 Challenge Tour season commence, with Welsh veteran Richie Burnett and Dutchman Danny Jansen achieving success in winning Events One & Two respectively, with both having lost their PDC Tour Cards at the end of 2023.

Event Three saw Sweden’s Oskar Lukasiak pick up his maiden PDC title, as he reached the final firstly by recording victories against Steven Paesschesoone, Gethyn Bennett, Romeo Grbavac, Andy Boulton, Simon Perkins, Chris Quantock and Ted Evetts, to set up a clash with Danny Jansen.

The final began with two straight holds of throw between the pair, before the first break came from Lukasiak in Leg Three with a 17 darter, which was instantly replied by a 10 dart break back from Jansen to square the tie up at 2apiece.

Lukasiak went on to win the following two legs in 18 and 20 darts respectively to move 4-2 ahead and within one of victory. Jansen did pull one leg back, before the Swede sealed the victory in Leg Eight with a 15 darter and a 121 checkout to pick up the £2,500 top prize and deny Jansen the chance of picking up back-to-back titles.

In Event Four, Switzerland’s Stefan Bellmont was victorious, as he reached the final firstly by recording victories against Charlie Symons, Scott Mitchell, Richie Burnett, Peter Jacques, Romeo Grbavac, Andy Boulton and Aden Kirk, to set up a clash with Hungary’s Pal Szekely.

The final began with a 19-dart break of throw from Bellmont, before he went on to dominate the entirety of the match, as he rattled off four successive legs in 18,16, 17 and 17 darts respectively to seal a 5-0 whitewash victory and pick up a second Challenge Tour title of his career.

The PDC Winmau Challenge Tour weekend concludes on Sunday with Event Five taking place in Milton Keynes, as play commences from 10:00 GMT. All live scores and results to be viewed at tv.dartconnect.com
