Duff Man Wins MSS Double Trouble

Neil Duff was victorious on Saturday as he was crowned the winner of Double Trouble Week at the Modus Super Series, after defeating Jim McEwan in the final and claiming the £5,000 top prize.

Duff, who entered the finale having finished 2nd in Group C on Thursday and Friday, began the night by winning both of his group phase matches, as he defeated Jim McEwan and Conan Whitehead to progress through to the Semi Finals, where he came up against Darryl Pilgrim, and from there, Duff defeated ‘Mr P’ 3-2 to book his place in the final.

Duff had said, during his Lakeside run in 2022, that he uses a shortened for of DIDO as a practise drill for major events and was living up to his remarks.

In the decider, Duff came up against Jim McEwan for the second time on the night, who’d defeated James Wilson in the last four, and once again, the Former WDF World Champion defeated ‘Chucky’ in a last leg decider to seal the victory and become the maiden Super Series Double Trouble Week Champion, as well as picking up the £5,000 first prize.

The Modus Super Series returns on Monday with Series Seven commencing and the start of Week One, with the first of three days of Group A commencing and the field including 4x Ladies World Champion Lisa Ashton.
