Jansen Closing In Thrilling MSS Group

Conor Heneghan maintained his position at the top of the table on Tuesday, after winning three of his five matches on Day Two as he looks to secure his place in Saturday’s finale, going into the final day of Group A on Wednesday.

Heneghan, who entered Tuesday’s play on 8 points from the opening day of Group A, won three matches from five to remain top of the table. The young Irishman recorded victories against Andy Boulton, Danny Jansen and Lewy Williams, with his two defeats coming against Carlo Van Peer and Darren Armstrong, to sit on 14 points from a possible 20 thus far.

Elsewhere, three players in Danny Jansen, Andy Boulton and Carlo Van Peer sit 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th respectively on 12 points each, whilst Darren Armstrong sits in 5^th on 10 points and Lewy Williams bottom on 0 points, having suffered ten straight defeats thus far.

The Modus Super Series continues on Wednesday with the six players returning on the final day of Group A, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with Heneghan leading the way on what looks likely to be a gripping finale to the week’s first grouping.

In a rare moment, any of the top five could top the group and grab the qualifying spot for Saturday and Lewy Williams could yet have a role to play, should the Welshman find his winning habit.

Players who finish in places 2-6 will be split into two groups for Thursday and Friday’s play with Afternoon and Evening sessions taking place on both days, as well as new players entering the fray.
