Viktor Tingstrom took the early lead on Monday, in ending Day One of Group A, top, after winning four of his five matches, as Week Seven of Series Seven commenced at the Modus Super Series.
The group is a strong mix between star names, including Darts World’s ambassador Colin Osborne, up and coming players, newcomers and MSS regulars.
Tingstrom, who last appeared at the Super Series back in November, made his return by taking the early lead in Group A, after winning four matches from five.
The Swede recorded victories against Corne Groeneveld, Conan Whitehead, Colin Osborne and Kieran Smith, with his only defeat coming against Robert Thornton, to end the day on 8 points from a possible 10.
Elsewhere, Corne Groeneveld also ended the day on 8 points, but sits in 2nd behind Tingstrom on leg difference, whilst Conan Whitehead and Robert Thornton sit joint 3rd on 6 points each, with Colin Osborne sitting in 5th on 2 points and Kieran Smith bottom on 0 points having suffered five straight defeats.
The Modus Super Series continues on Tuesday with the six players returning, hoping to boost their chances of securing a place in Saturday’s Finale, with Tingstrom leading the way thus far.
Play will begin at 9:30am BST and will be streamed live on the Modus YouTube channel, Sporty Stuff TV or via various bookmaker’ websites worldwide.
