Shane McGuirk and Andy Davidson took the early lead on Thursday in ending Day One of their respective groups, top, as they look to join Richie Burnett in Saturday’s finale at the Modus Super Series.
McGuirk, who entered Group C having finished 4th in Group A earlier in the week, took the early lead, after winning four of his five matches, as he recorded victories against Greg Ritchie, Bhav Patel, Jeroen Mioch and Jenson Walker, with his only defeat coming against Killian McCormack, to end the day on 8 points from a possible 10.
Elsewhere, Killian McCormack also ended the day on 8 points, but sits in 2nd behind McGuirk on leg difference, whilst Greg Ritchie and Jenson Walker sit 3rd and 4th respectively on 6 points each, with Jeroen Mioch sitting in 5th on 2 points and Bhav Patel bottom on 0 points, having suffered five straight defeats on his Super Series return.
In Group B, Andy Davidson took the early lead, after winning three of his four matches, as he recorded victories against Mark Dudbridge, Jimmy Van Schie and Reece Colley, with his only defeat coming against Charlie Large, to end the evening on 6 points from a possible 8.
Elsewhere, Jimmy Van Schie also ended the night on 6 points, but sits in 2nd behind Davidson on leg difference, whilst Charlie Large sits in 3rd on 4 points, with Reece Colley and Mark Dudbridge sitting 4th and 5th respectively on 2 points each.
The Modus Super Series continues on Friday with players continuing to battle out as they aim to join Richie Burnett in Saturday’s finale, with McGuirk and Davidson taking the early lead thus far. Group C will commence from 1pm BST and Group B will commence from 10pm BST.
